Passing The Torch To Bill Dixon
Paul “Bill” Dixon has served Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama for over 25 years. He graduated from Auburn University and holds graduate degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Sanford University.
Mr. Dixon joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama in April 1980 as a Marketing Representative. He has served in the Marketing Division in a variety of capacities including: Manger of the Account Executive Program and Director of Large Group Marketing.
In 1995 Mr. Dixon was named Manager and Director of the Account Executive program with the title of Vice President, Large Group Marketing. In 1996 Mr. Dixon was made Senior Vice President of Marketing, responsible for directing Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama’s District Sales, Marketing Support functions, as well as Market Information and Technology.
Bill is on the Editorial Advisory Board of Sales and Management Magazine, Board of Directors of Metamorphosis Ministries in Birmingham, and Board of Trustees, Ministering to Ministers Foundation.
He is married to Kay and has two adult children, both employed in Birmingham.
Bill Dixon succeeds Dr. Bill Trimyer who served as trustee chair for the past two years. Other officers elected were: Dr. Michael Chittum, Vice Chair; Dr. Hunter Hill, Secretary; and Dr. Charles Chandler, Treasurer.
