Editor's Note

Dr. Chandler's column on page 4 of this issue makes reference to getting up when we’ve been knocked down it is a matter of keeping on, keeping on. Well, that his a real "back home" note with me. My mother had a little 4 x 6 frame with a poem in it. The title of the poem is "Keepin'on".  I have that little frame and poem in front of me right now. Here it is:

Keepin'on

If the day looks kinder gloomy
An' yer chances kinder slim,

If the situation's puzzlin'
An' the prospects awful grim,

An' perplexities keep pressin'
Til all hope is nearly gone-

Jest bristle up an' grit yer teeth
An' keep on Keepin' on.

No author is noted, but as we say in Western Kentucky, it's a “gem dandy”!
