Board of Trustees Elects New Officers

During the Board Meeting in September, the Board of Trustees elected new officers for the coming year.

Chairman - Dr. Alvin Edwards, Charlottesville, Virginia received the BA degree in Biblical Studies from Wheaton College, the Master of Divinity from Virginia Union School of Theology and the Ph.D. in Education from George Mason University. He is pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Charlottesville and a former mayor of the city. He and his wife, the former Ms. Barbara A. Singleton, have four children and three wards. Dr. Edwards is civic minded and has served on boards of the Alliance For Interfaith Ministries, Charlottesville Redevelopment Housing Authority, and is the Lecturer in the Youth Division for the National Baptist Congress for Christian Education.

Vice Chairman - Dr. William L. Trimyer, Danville, Virginia received degrees from Bluefield College, Georgetown College, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Union Theological Seminary. He is Director of Counseling and Assistant Professor of Religion at Averett College in Danville.

Secretary - Rev. Keith H. Harris, Richmond, Virginia received degrees from the University of Colorado and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He recently retired as pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church in the historic Fan District of Richmond. He has been involved with Habitat for Humanity from its early days.

Treasurer - Dr. Charles H. Chandler, Richmond, Virginia received degrees at Samford University and Southern Baptist Seminary. He is pastor of Trinity Church, Baptist in Richmond. He is founder and Executive Director of Ministering to Ministers.
