Introducing . . . Tim Sledge, a new Board Member
Free-lance writer, speaker and business consultant, Tim Sledge runs his own company. Giant Step Resources focuses on developing "outside the box" resources for positive change and dramatic growth.
Born in Austin, Texas, he married the former Linda Cox of Odessa, Texas. They have two grown children, Jonathan and David. Tim's vocational experience began in Memphis, Tennessee where he was Youth Minister at Union Avenue Baptist Church. Pastorates included Bergen Baptist Church, Waidwick, New Jersey; First Southern Baptist Church, Buckeye, Arizona, and Kingsland Baptist Church in the Houston suburb of Katy, Texas.
Under his leadership at Kingsland where he served from August 1985 through January 1996, resident membership increased from 566 to 2059 and worship attendance increased from 400 to 1100. In 1990, Church Growth Today recognized Kingsland as one of the 540 fastest growing churches in North America.
Recently, Tim has been a therapist on the staff of the Union Baptist Association Center for Counseling in Houston. He has also been a radio talk show host on two Houston stations. One-to-One was a Sunday-night show on a secular station and Giant Step was a weekday show, "sharing the journey toward emotional, relational and spiritual wholeness" on a Christian station.
Since 1992, Tim has spoken in 18 states and in Korea sharing the message of emotional healing and recovery in Christ. He is the author of three books, Making Peace with your Past, Moving Beyond Your Past and Killers: Alcohol and Other Drugs.
