Roses in Winter . . .
by Bill Trimyer, D. Min.
Roses in Winter . . .
When I made my exit from a church that was on the verge of asking for my
resignation (what we in MTM refer to as Involuntary Forced Termination),
the following roses brightened my winter.
. My sons who said, "We love you dad."
. My best friend who held me when I cried.
. The church members who cried when they learned of my struggle and
pain.
. The cards from children who wrote to say, "We will miss you,
Preacher Bill."
. The cards from some in the church who wrote to express their sorrow
and to say, "You touched my life."
. The church members who affirmed my ministry by saying, "Because of
what you have done in and for our church, you will live on and not be
forgotten."
Sometimes in winter it helps to remember the roses.
