MTM Trustees Elect New Chair

Bill Trimyer, Associate Professor at Averett University in Danville, Virginia for seventeen years, was elected as the new chair of the MTM Board of Trustees at the September meeting.  Bill was a charter member of the trustees and for the past two years has served as editor of The Servant.

A native of Portsmouth, Virginia, Bill earned degrees from Bluefield College, Georgetown College, Southern Baptist Seminary, Union Theological Seminary, Richmond, and Goddard College.  He completed a residency in CPE at the Medical College of Virginia and is a certified Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. 

Bill has served pastorates in Kentucky and Virginia and as Director of Pastoral Care of a trauma hospital in Champaign, Illinois.

Bill and his wife, Pat, have two grown sons, Brian and  Brandon.  Bill performed the wedding for Brian and Cari on October 18 in St. Petersburg, Florida and will perform the wedding for Brandon and Kelly at Duke Chapel in Durham on May 1, 2004.

One of Bill's favorite passions is building.  He has built a "southern living" style cabin as a "hide-away" on his farm in Gretna, Virginia.  His other passions include writing, reading , gardening, canoeing, and travel.  He has taken students to Israel, Egypt and Greece.

Other officers elected at the September meeting include Patricia Turner, Churchville, Maryland, Vice Chair; Dr. Michael Chittum, Wichita, Kansas, Secretary; and Dr. Charles Chandler, Treasurer.
